Today, I want to take you behind the scenes and shed some light on our onboarding process. As a marketing professional with over 10 years of experience, in 2020 I started my own marketing and social media consultancy.

In the early days, many of my first clients came from my professional network, where there was a more informal process of becoming clients. However, as Kate Oakley Marketing has grown, we now have a more official onboarding process in place to ensure the best experience for our clients.

Discuss the initial steps:

When we get an enquiry, we normally begin with an introductory call. This call allows us to have an open conversation and understand your requirements, ensuring that there is a way for us to provide the support and solutions you need. It's important for me to mention that I never take on a client if I feel that I can't make a difference. As a small business, the responsibility lies with me, and I must be confident in my ability to assist you in achieving your marketing goals.

Before the call, we sometimes request some simple business information so we can tailor our services to your business and industry from the outset.

Create a comprehensive proposal:

After our initial conversation, if there is a mutual fit and we are both excited to move forward, we develop a comprehensive proposal based on our conversation. This proposal outlines the specific strategies, deliverables, and timeline tailored to your unique business needs. When possible, we try to include some actionable advice based on your website and social media channels to start adding value before we even start working together.

Support the decision-making process:

Once you receive the proposal, you have the opportunity to consider it and present it to the decision-makers within your business, if required. I understand that making marketing decisions involves collaboration and budget approval so it can take time. We’re always available to answer any questions you may have or can jump on a call to present the proposal in more detail.

Agree on the next steps:

Once you have reviewed the proposal and made your decisions, we work together to finalise the details. We agree on a start date, and then we're ready to hit the ground running. In the initial stages, we normally need to schedule regular catch-up meetings. These can continue but at the start they’re particularly important as time with you allows us to fully understand the nature of your business and gather any additional information necessary to deliver the best possible results.

At Kate Oakley Marketing, our onboarding process is designed to set the stage for a successful and productive partnership. We believe in building strong relationships with our clients based on trust, communication, and shared goals.

Are you ready?

If you're interested in talking to us about your marketing, I invite you to reach out for an introductory call. There’s no pressure to go ahead with a partnership after this point, you can use the time to tap into our knowledge and then decide whether our marketing services can benefit your business.
